Dirty Days lives up to its name
Dirty Days – Cudlee Creek Sunday August 12 2018
What a day. We thought Dirty Days would get dirty but we didn’t expect it to be like it was on Sunday!
We had a bunch of hardy mountain bikers make the most of the inclement weather which at one stage clouded over bringing visibility down to about 50m. Needless to say, all got wet and muddy and probably a few got cold (ok most did). However, the feeling around the fires after the ride on the second Dirty Days series was overwhelmingly friendly and positive.
Mum and Dads with kids argued over whether to stay and eat sausages or do one last lap. It’s fair to say that the sausages won out in many cases. However, what is better than seeing parents and kids sharing the joy of mountain biking in one of the states best places for cross country and downhill mountain biking. Who knows how many future visits to Cudlee Creek will be made by those kids, who may later hop on a fully sprung (and fully sick!) “dually” MTB to go hurtling down the slopes at parent scaring speeds? 😛
The next Dirty Days will explore Kuitpo Forest, another Forestry SA venue, as well as the Prospect Hill Mountain Bike Trails (single track mountain biking). Come along if you like being on your mountain bike or you like meeting new friends and….give yourself an excuse to wash your bike!
Don’t forget that every Dirty Days entry goes into the draw to win Reid Vice 3 Plus Mountain Bike – thanks to Reid Cycles. With RockShox forks, Shimano SLX 1×10 gearing and hydraulic disc brakes, the new 2018 Vice 3 will have you shredding the local trails with confidence in no time.
